For fun...but I would like to look for one, eventually.

Please, share your thoughts. And no, I won't be bringing this one to church.

What is your intent to do with it? I have heard the PLR-16 to be finicky for the first couple hundred rounds but to end up ok. AR pistol would be ok, and I've heard good things about the draco..

But to be honest I'd just get a hand gun, and get an AR-15 in its entirety at a later date.

My intent is to have fun with it.

And maybe have it as a back-up gun for WROL/trunk gun/Bug out gun.

Most so called 'assault pistols' are not easy to control while shooting. Having shot a Sig P556, an AR15 pistol and an Krink. I can say that without a stock (which would make it an SBR) they are difficult to control. The AR15 pistol though remains the easiest to shoot in my personal opinion since the butt cap provides somewhat of support. Not a stock really but I've found it ok to shoot out up to 25 yrds. The P556 and Krink I was all over the silhouette with.

The AR15 pistol is also nice in that it allows you a non NFA route for short barrel uppers.

    A Wildey.
A gas operated rotating bolt for strength.
    A fixed barrel for accuracy.
Interchangeable barrels for versatility. (An 8 inch .45 Win Mag for plinking and a 14 inch .475 Wildey Mag for business.)
    Stainless to withstand the elements.
As much fun as you could want without going full auto.
Why would you consider anything else?

I voted Ak simply because the AR pistols with the buffer tube just look silly...

Are you stuck on rifle calibers or would you consider pistol calibers as well. I ask because the PPS-43 pistol in 7.62X25 is a riot to shoot and very very cheap to feed. And in 9mm you have the Finnish Kp-44 which uses the 72 round drum magazine (you get tired of pulling the trigger before you run out of ammo...lol)

Or even the Sterling pistol in 7.62X25...

call me a fool, cuz I'm kinda new to the pistol scene, but when I think high-caliber, I'm not thinking 7.62 NATO... I'm thinking .45 ACP or .50 mag... someone please explain what is meant by "high caliber pistol"
