Hi, all. I'm a native Hoosier who believes that an armed populace is important, but doesn't toe either side of the Red/Blue culture war party line. I used to lurk here, but stopped when I started finding the political environment unacceptable. After rejecting the necessity of personal firearm ownership for a few years I've gone through a lot of introspection and concluded that I was wrong. I'm hoping that the claim made in the rules that this is a place for all gun owners to come together is accurate, because whereas I don't agree with many of you politically I could use some gun chat. Recently I've been interested in building an AR and doing unnatural things to a 10/22, but those are both theoretical at this point because "buy once, cry once" is very much my philosophy at this point.

If you want to talk guns talk guns. If you continue trolling the political threads you probably won’t last long.

Welcome to my world of fitting in nowhere. As others have said, plenty of other interesting threads to hang out in. I prefer to stay in the chatty Status Update threads and the strictly firearm threads.

Hello from East Central. This by far one of the best gun forums I’ve dealt with much knowledge contained in these pages. Seen a guy take a saw to to high end German match 22 among things he did to rifles. They all were Incredibly accurate and light or heavy depending on his purpose.
    So no problem.

I haven't read any of your other posts, but I will say that this place is not monolithic with regards to political views.

The majority is conservative, whatever that means in the Trump era. There are a lot who are pro-Trump, a lot who are hold-your-nose-and-vote-for-Trump, and many who can't get behind Trump for various reasons. There are even many Democrats and some socialists, libertarians, anarchists, etc. on here.

But so long as the conversation stays civil and productive, the moderators are happy to let us keep arguing our points.

    Welcome.

Sadly, firearms and politics seem to go "hand in hand". Usually the latter effects the former, so that is why it can get political. Hello and welcome from the Fort Wayne area! :D
