    SOLD

    FOR SALE:
    Condor Garuda

    DESCRIPTION:

This Condor fixed blade is built like a tank, as are most of their products. The blade is flat ground from 3/16" thick 1075 high carbon steel. The full tang, extended butt, and the base of the blade retain that full thickness for strength, but the blade has a distal taper down to about 1/16" near the point to make it a better slicer, especially for food prep in camp or wherever you want to use it.

This knife is in "like new" shape. I touched-up the edge a little to make it slice more aggressively, but the original edge geometry is intact. It has sliced a few sheets of paper and shaved some arm hair, but other than that it is unused. The black coating on the blade is intact with no scuffs or rubs. The spine is exposed and is sharp enough to scrape wood or strike sparks from a ferrocerium rod. Since it's a plain carbon steel, you can also use it with a "flint" or other hard rock to strike sparks if you need.

The scales are Micarta and very grippy. If you look at the grip, there are no finger grooves or other contours that force your hand into a specific position. That allows for more options for gripping and also accommodates all hand sizes.

The sheath is a simple nylon rig with a retention strap. It is lined with some kind of polymer, so you won't have a problem with cutting through the sheath during normal use. It also has a pocket on the front for gear and the original cord attached for use as a tie-down or lanyard.

This knife is not well known, but it makes a great general purpose field, camping, or survival knife. It's inexpensive (especially mine!) and tough! It's also very easy to sharpen. Make an offer!
