    $80,000,000/5,000 rifles = $16,000/rifle

I think I should submit a bid. I think I can beat that price. And the quality.

Why don't you call the workers at Remington and let them know how displeased you are that they still have jobs.

While you're at it, boycott Mossberg and Colt- both in Connecticut.
Has Magpul actually left Colorado? Boycott untill they do.

Do you work at a company that has a "no guns" policy? Better quit otherwise you are part of an anti-gun agenda.

....normally we think smug self-righteousness is the province of liberals....guess not.

And another falls for the lies of socialism and the promise of prosperity.

I wonder how much Remington's Officers are going to make on this deal?

    I don't see the issue.

$16k per rifle, an $80m contract, no termination of hundreds (or thousands of employees) - no need to invest in a new state, new workers, etc..

Seems a lot riskier for them to leave than it is to stay. I see common sense as opposed to a lack of integrity.

Hasn't Remington had QC issues on at least some products for some time anyway? Seems pretty easy to distance from them?

The decision to stay put is Remington's choice to make,,
    That said
It is my choice to seek out firearms, ammuntion and firearm accessories that are NOT made in anti 2nd amendment states. (and no I will not buy a Colt or Remington or Mossberg )

I see it like this ,, These companies pay taxes,, A LOT of taxes, in turn that tax money is used to prop up the politicians that attack the 2nd amendment.

IMHO, if Remington and Colt should come out with, We have heard YOUR voice! The state of CT, NY, has made it clear we are no longer welcome. We are taking our money and your jobs elsewhere! To those that will soon be unemployed, We did not create these circumstances,, YOUR politicians did , Please direct all complaints to THEM!

You don't see an issue with the government paying $16,000 for a $2,000 rifle, or you don't see an issue with corporate welfare, or you don't see an issue with the government essentially paying off the company brass, or what?

    Do you pay any taxes?

First, we don't know what the contract entails. To assume is idiotic. Could it include scopes, ammunition, bags, etc? Neither of us know.

Paying off company brass? Haha - this has gone on since the beginning of time. Let's not be so naive to think this isn't reality in many businesses in all cities.

Do I pay taxes? In addition to my quarterly payments (self employed), I sent my envelope with a check in it at 11:30 p.m. on Monday (4/15) for $11k (completely surprised this year). What does this have to do with how capitalism REALLY works?

Relax, Remington spent multi millions to move Marlin, Bushmaster, H&R, and a bunch of other production to the underutilized historical plant at Ilion NY in the last five years.

They are still trying to get production on several lines up to pre move levels

They also have a new state of the art plant at Mayfield Kentucky, a free state.

Remington Ammo is made in Arkansas

Research is done in a small Elizabeth KY building

Targets are made in Ohio and Oklahoma.

Don't go apecrap on them because a move out of NYS for them would be an extreme financial burden when they are still trying to recover from the last moves!

OK, I'll give you $2000 for a scope and another $2000 for accessories, but that leaves $10,000 for ammo, that I would bet is not included.

So that makes it OK for your government to spend your money that way?

Tax payers should care about where there money is going, that's all.

Capitalism - well that could be debated - what we should have is free markets; let's not confuse the two.
