I just read a news article where a school shooter, from 2004, is praising the efforts to ban AR15 style rifles! He goes on to say that had he used one, the body count would have been high. As is was, he used a pump shotgun and wounded one. Why are we asking criminals their opinion? This bothers me that a guy like this is even being asked what he thinks about gun control and hat guns guys like me, who didn’t commit a crime, should be “allowed” to own.

    Salacious reporting without a doubt.
I'm sure he didn't initiate an interview from a prison cell, which means some scumbag reporter went looking for just this story, with just this angle.

True, but it just really raises my blood pressure that a guy like that even gets a voice. There seems to be no low that the anti crowd won’t sink to.

    How is that shocking?

Of course criminals would like to see all guns banned since they don't buy same legally but their victims do.

Burglars are also opposed to alarms and security systems; and rapists think womens shouldn't be allowed to carry any kind of weapons.

I guess it is not shocking, you are right, just really bothers me that people like that are used by some to try to restrict/regulate/infringes my rights.

It's more the low-life liberal press that's responsible in this case.
These people wouldn't have a voice if it weren't for a perverted ideology, hell-bent on projecting their misguided penchants on others.
You are correct. This guy, who I assume is in prison, should not be seen OR heard in matters regarding the law.

I agree with what others have stated.

    1. Why does he have a voice at all regarding any kind of laws or legislation? As a Felon he has no rights. He cannot legally vote.
    2. It most likely was a scum bag reporter trying to make a name for themselves.
    3. And like someone else pointed out, why is he still alive? He should be put to death for his crime.
    4. Our "system" needs a lot of work and change. Too many greedy people in positions they should not be in.

I agree that it's the press that is responsible for giving this guy the attention. But why would you assume he would still be in prison? No one killed, one injured. In IN that would be aggravated assault, which is a lvl 3 felony with 3-16yrs in the pen. If this was in IN and he got the max it's quite likely he would have gotten out by now. Unless he was hit with other charges to be served concurrently. But if he did a plea deal...

    1. Actually as a felon he retains most of his rights. In IN if you are not currently incarcerated you can vote. Not to mention that if this happened in IN it's possible he could have served his time and had the conviction expunged which means that he would no longer be considered a felon for legal purposes.

    2. I can agree with.

If the shooter were 100% honest he'd have said that targeting a school makes sense because firearms are not allowed in schools. He also could have mentioned that the AR-15 ban wouldn't have effected him because attempted murder is a greater crime than possession of an illegal weapon.

This reminds me of the relatively-recent litigation (which failed) where a problem gambler blamed the casino because it did not enforce her voluntary ban from the facility.

Why does this guy even get a voice? Because of the media, looking for something salacious.
