Sounds like a business opportunity to help them and make some money.

Oh, and just ask HoughMade - not everything in a civil complaint is necessarily true. ;)

    Stephen Gutowski's thoughts on this

The claims that this court filing indicate the NRA is in dire financial straits are ridiculous. This is a filing in their case against New York's efforts to dissuade companies from working with the NRA. It outlines the real and hypothetical harm involved. The filing is specifically designed to show they New York's threat that they'll use state power to punish companies that work with the NRA had an negative effect on them and could have further negative effects, including potential (in theory) catastrophic ones.

Basically, they claim that New York's threats lead to a some companies canceling deals with the NRA and that if (and this is a huge if) they were unable to find banks or insurance companies to do business with them in a variety of ways that could force them to close. Remember, they're trying to establish that they've been harmed and may continue to be harmed by New York's actions. So, they're going to emphasize how they think they're being affected by what New York did.

If you're thinking this filing means the NRA is having trouble bringing in money, well, I highly doubt that's the case.

Most of the time, a plaintiff's attorney gets his clients name right....but not always.

Anyhoo, it looks like they aren't so much running out of money as they are claiming they will have no where to put their money, no one to handle it and no way to buy insurance or offer credit cards or insurance to its members.

Maybe they should stop mailing members 19 trees worth of solicitations every year and stop giving away all that expensive swag with a paid membership.

I'm not sure I'd believe ANYTHING published in or by Rolling Stone. They are not in the business of practicing journalism.

It's not like they made up a story about a rape victim and smeared a Fraternity and a University in the process. Then said it was OK because it happened somewhere. Oh wait, they did.

For the people whining about the mail they get from the NRA...call them and have them take you off their mailing list.

It's really hard, hope you don't sprain anything.

    Good one.

I guess we got a lot of paper from them, especially after renewing and them wanting us to renew again  After awhile, we got to where we usually sent it straight to the trash without even opening it.
