As if a mental background check will find anything. First you have to have a database with sufficient meaningful input...like that's ever going to happen by government.

It would end up with many more unionized government workers reliably voting for Dems.

How many of the mass shooters in the last few years had a mental illness paper trail. No body cared.

Soda tax doesn't stop people from drinking soda, why would it stop people from buying bullets? Also, is it bad that when I see bullet bill it reminds me of Super Mario brothers.

So far, it doesn't mean anything more than the Detroit City Council is a bunch of typical left-leaning lunatics. It's not a bill, it's a resolution. They are officially saying we want this in a state law, which is all they can do. That's why one of the supporters said, "Lansing here we come". Remember the hoopla about the Indy City Council resolution pertaining to an assault weapon ban? Means nothing unless the state legislature passes a law. I suspect "Lansing" will tell them not to bother. [FONT=&quot]

    .
Keep in mind that all of these measures provided cash for the leadership and jobs public/private to dispense on their supporters. Which do you believe motivates leadership here, easy cash, patronage work, and looking good to big media or reducing gun violence in their area of responsibility?

    Always follow the money

Foot in the door, just the way they like it.

"What could be wrong with background checks?" 90% of gun owners agree...

How are they going to get around the HIPPA laws for their paper trail?

I can just see the new Detroit BATF hotline:

"Thank you for calling the BATF hotline,
if you have obsessive compulsive disorder, press 1 repeatedly."
"If your complaint is co-dependency, have someone else press 2"
"For multiple personalities, press 3,4,5 and 6..."

More feel good circle jerk legislation. Just order online and have shipped to a friend outside the city, or drive outside Detroit to buy it. What a load of :poop:

I remember this joke from years ago.
