I popped on The Truth About Guns this morning and the first two headlines were about foreign interference in our liberty and freedom. First was the NZ shooter hoping to facilitate the decimation of the Second Amendment and the Chinese Communist Party saying the US needs more gun control. That coupled with the UN's aggressive small arms treaty in recent weeks is not accidental, it is a consistent theme that the world, not just the left, wants to disarm US citizens. The left is like the Harry Ellis character in Die Hard, thinking he is a buddy to the bad guys, while selling out the good strong people...

Would be interested to see other examples of international interference in our rights. They absolutely hate our First and Second Amendments...

I believe this is the exact reason we had to kick a$$ during a near 20 year struggle for freedom that started in Lexington and Concord.

So then, this question has already been permanently addressed on American soil a long time ago, and the world can go pound sand and deal with their own problems with government over-reach, especially when it comes to gun rights, or lack thereof.

No surprise about the chinese etc. Fascists hate (and fear) freedom of speech because they can't tolerate people having contrary thoughts beyond gov't control. Similarly, they can't stand free people having the means to defend themselves against both criminals and tyrants existing as an example for their subjects, that things can be different.
The NZ terrorists ranting about "gun control" in the USA leaves me confused.

What do gun laws here, have to do with their terrorism in NZ?

If gun bans etc work, than how did they get theirs there, where gun laws are extremely restrictive? Why would they think that their mass murder makes a case for anti-gun laws anywhere? Yes, that agenda is actually about emotion, not facts, but how irrational can someone be?

This case is either a bizarre spin on "intersectionality" combining anti immigrant/anti moslem bias with the leftist anti gun agenda OR it makes for a fantastic conspiracy theory about UN agents arming and inciting some kiwi bigots to commit mass murder, and then planting an anti-gun manifesto on their social media

Irrational enough to kill 49 people.

It's not really worth getting all revved up about the rantings of a psychopath.

Those 49 bodies on the other side of the world are barely cold; I think it's a bit early and a bit callous to start theorizing about how it could impact US laws, or blaming the NRA, or mocking "thoughts and prayers" (I'm talking to you, AOC), etc., etc.

You may believe it is permanently settled but they do not...

I care not what the rest of the world thinks. I care not what those, in this country, that want us to be the rest of the world think.

The last quarter of a millenia has been the greatest for the prosperity of mankind in the history of mankind. There is one singular reason for such prosperity: The United States. The Chinese Communists administered the cultural revolution. No other government in the 20th Century reserved the right of mass murder like the Chinese. Western Europe and countries in the southern hemisphere that were settled by western Europeans were subjects long before they were democratic (socialists). I care not what a culture that doesn't understand freedom thinks.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. We are the only people in all of mankind that can remain eternally vigilant. We can defend ourselves. As heirs of the American Revolution and stewards of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, the Founders and Framers ensured hundreds of millions unborn of the exceptionalism of America.

The world hates you and wants you dead. We have had this discussion. Use this sudden (for some of you) realization to join together to petition your government and motivate others to get off the couch.

As well, keep this in mind: the entire power of the United States military cannot disarm 17,000 poor, uneducated, barely literate guys with rifles in Afghanistan in 18 years, how will they accomplish anything against you?

The real threat to gun rights in the United States comes from American politicians. Not foreign ones.

That type of sentiment is naive and minimizes the influence the international community has on many people including the pols. If the UN announced that the US had to give up their guns just who do you think, in percentages and basic demography, would rise up to stop it?

A small group maybe 15% or so would really fight it. 55% would think it cool, and 30% would harp it is wrong while complying.

A lot of our troops are gun owners themselves. When I was in the Army, I would say a solid 80-90% of my unit would never confiscate firearms from Americans. As a whole, I think conservatively, 70% of US troops would refuse such an order. Most of the guys I served with were ready to go to war with the US in the event of that happening.

I can't say they won't try it, but the current plan seems to be a conditioning of society that guns are taboo. They are patient. This has been in motion for decades.
