Is this the part of the story where I am to get ready to thank him for not infringing even more so than he already has and lick his boots in thanks?

I respectfully decline with a statement to Donnie. "Go **** yourself and leave me be".

Trump will promote something that will ostensibly beef-up NICS. That will largely be a sham to appease the left. He's going to cave on Red Flag Laws, and he's got Pence ready to defend them. They'll use Indiana as a paradigm for the federal legislation. Braun will champion it in the Senate. Just watch. When this happens, we'll have all the Trumpster "conservatives" going ga-ga about how he didn't ban "assault" weapons.

There's a limit on how much you can take without people taking back. Why not put us all in a kennel and keep us safe? Liberty be damned.

I also hope this is true.

Whether it is motivated by the upcoming election cycle, and posturing as a clearly better 2A candidate than any Dem or a bona fide belief in the value of the 2A, this is an issue that I can be more result-oriented about.

Damned if he does, damned if he don't. Gezz.

    Pretty much.

Let me just ask those who are in the "I told you so" category what would you do if in his chair. The opposition is overwhelming. The pressures are immense. The man can not take a crap with out it being analyzed and shouts of "Its not enough" so yes, what would you do.

I am not happy about any of this but seriously......WTF would any of us do in his position.

The answer is to push the long term power mongers out of the seats of power. Both sides. Until we do this one man will not save us all. Wake up folks. Stop *****ing and start getting active. Ya-all are killing me.

Well, the man tweets about every crap he has, inviting analysis of his craps, so stopping that would be a good starting point.

No argument here but I am about the 2-A situation.
Him no longer tweeting is not going to divert the socialists from the end game they have so long strive to achieve.

    This right here!

We have to be in the president's ear and those of his advisors. We need to educate them of the pitfalls and hidden BS contained in the dem/anti-gunners talking points.

*****ing on the interwebs doesn't seem to be helping...:twocents:

Nothing will divert that. People have been at odds about the role of government since the first government.

But, Trump practicing just A LITTLE DISCIPLINE and not giving them ammunition to thwart him is what we're really talking about.

On the 2A front, Trump has no guiding principles. The best we can hope for is for our side of the 2A to be considered helpful to him.

Trump will do what’s best for Trump. The only way to get what we want is to make sure Trump wins too. If he understands stepping over the line 2A-wise sends him back to private life (or loses him the Legislative Branch), he’ll toe our line.

If only Trump would just be less like Trump ... then the people that don't like him still wouldn't like him

Part of my letter to the White House:

Please use your VETO power if necessary should the weak Republicans in the Senate cave again to pressure from the other side of the aisle. No matter what you do the Never Trumpers will still hate you so please protect us Deplorables from their attacks on the country and our Constitution. I care and I VOTE and my single vote should have just as much value as the corporate executives pushing for gun control.

Gee, I don't know. How about honoring the oath to protect and defend the Constitution for starters?

Politicians are nothing but parasitical scum.
