Not until after this legislative session unfortunately. According to the Fox 59 story, he’ll end his time as speaker of the house at the end of this section and has no plans to run for reelection he will move to a “ National legislative campaign role“. Get three guesses what that is in the first two don’t count.

Take a run at ConC in 21?

    Jim Lucas?

He would get the INGO endorsement but I don't how much weight that carries at 200 W Washington Street.

I don't have any inside-baseball knowledge as far as how this will work. From a current leadership position? Committee Chair? Wild card?

While I'd support Jim getting the speaker nod, I don't think the Indianapolis swamp is ready for him. My cynical side expects the new leader to look a lot more like the old one.

    Not in that swamp.

I was still in Virginia last time when Bosma started his reign. I'm guessing there is schmoozing and politicking followed by a vote of the R Caucus. Out of the 71 "R"s there? Yeah odds are we'll get another Bosma. Still got Bray on the Senate side so we have that fight too.

This would be interesting, if a guy like Jim got that. It's one thing to be one of the peanut gallery but quite another when you have to herd the cats and get all the squishy republicans (not to mention the opposition) to agree to bills that they can vote for.

I wonder where he's going that will pay better than where he was?
