Didn’t the DOJ recently have some sort of announcement that they were going to be cracking down on illegal transfers or something to that effect?

Have heard of ISP going to shops to get copies of 4473's from denials, presumably leading to prosecution of those who shouldn't have been trying to make purchases.

I would like to see this happen.

I think we have been harping on enforcement of existing laws for some time.

I'm waiting to see how the anti-2A crowd manages to come out against a program which enforces existing laws and actually leads to prosecuting felons in possession of firearms. I'm sure that will be a hoot.

Well, there one thing that federal law enforcement is good at . . . and that is press conferences.

Dudes, look, gun running from Indiana has long been a problem. Remember the Black Knights member that they caught with suitcases full of guns at the Lafayette gun show?

It's not that tough. Look up the serial number of the recovered murder weapon and then trace the number to the shop that sold it to her.

It happens every day in Indy. Heck straw buying is why some stores banned cameras and other stores demand Indiana DL instead of ID cards.

This may eventually lead to the end to private party sales being off the record.
There's a Gunshop in Avon that has a "Safe Transfer" program just for this purpose. I believe it's 20.00 and the transaction is fully recorded and legally transferred between the two private parties.

Really not a bad deal for 10.00 per person and piece of mind.

Indiana tried this from 1974 to 1998. It was a complete failure.

The woman buying guys for the BGDs was buying from FFLs.

INGO taking the position that there are limits to "shall not be infringed".

    Interesting.

If I were king, it'd be like the olden days. (Except instead of Montgomery Wards catalogs, we'd be buying straight from Bud's and sent to our homes directly). Buuuuutttttt....since that's not likely to ever happen, I much prefer strictly enforcing existing laws rather than inventing new ones.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I thought the title was referring to plastic straws. :ugh: That's how f'ed up the world is, having to worry about the ability to use a damn straw.

When you are done snickering, please carry on.
