Why would there be? Sanctuary counties are in states that either have or are trying to pass really restrictive gun laws.

Any where there are Democrats,,there are thoughts of gun control. Two years ago,LA Porte county commissioners floated a shooting ban which would have nearly stopped all firearm use county wide. A sxxt storm ensued. The public outcry scared em......for awhile. You all are right,it would never happen here.

I saw an article just yesterday where in Kentucky, where they just passed CC this past year, their democrats are proposing some of the now familiar gun laws.

We’re one election away from the usual suspects in our legislature having the traction needed to start doing it here too.

If they win and take control we may well see some counties declare themselves to be sanctuary counties. Until that happens, there is no need.

Indiana’s Preemption Statute has been effective but I like the idea of 2A Sanctuaries as well at the local level. No harm in it, kind of a big fat FY to the gun grabbers and I’m always happy to send an upturned middle digit (or two) their way.

Believe it or not the LaPorte County Board of Commissioners is all Republicans or they have a significant majority. There are anti-gunners in both parties

If we give in to the sanctuary mentality are we not giving in to recognizing the sanctuary cities and such across America that thwart federal law?

If we make our own sanctuary counties, what is to stop the libs from being santuaries from the 2A? Isn't that big county in the middle of the state pretty blue?

What will be sanctuaried in a few years? MAGA hats, NRA, Cocain?

The leftists (they're not at all 'liberal', as in: tolerant or open minded) established "sanctuary" cities etc as a tactic of only recognizing laws they like. Their gun bans etc are more of the same since gun ownership is a right, not a priviledge for them to dole out to rich, politically connected people. We have every thing to gain from using their methods back on them and nothing to lose because otherwise the result is incremental loss of our freedom. The worst thing that could happen is balkanizing the country, but the alternative to that would be letting them raise their socialist/communist flag over us.

As a method to apply political pressure- it may be a sound strategy.

As an actual strategy to combat enforcement of the law...not so much.

In effect, haven't places like Chicago, NYC, and CA already done just that? They don't call it that but it's increasingly becoming the effect.

Maybe. Back in the 1940's, in Athens, TN, a group of WW2 vets took matters into their own hands to stop what they believed was a local government gone awry. Yeah, they weren't technically a "militia" but the concept of armed citizens fighting an out of control government is not unheard of...and within memory of some of our older folks.

I am familiar with that incident.

It's not 1946 anymore...and they were trying to make sure there was an honest vote count. In Virginia, they are planning to resist what duly elected officials have done.

This needs to be a political protest, not a battle.
