H. Bannerman Spencer Model 1896 RPTG 12ga. Shotgun. Patent 1892.
In 1890 Bannerman's bought the patents and machinery from the bankrupt Spencer Arms Company, the original maker of the first successful slide action repeating shotgun. Bannerman's Spencer RPTG shotgun was produced from 1890 until 1902. The Spencer was quite unique at the time. Pump Action, it loaded and ejected from the top. The guns were made in 12 gauge only. NOTE: it is chambered in 2 5/8 shells and not 2 3/4, The barrel also looks like Damascus. This one appears to be in exceptional condition for it's age. The only mark on the blueing is where the action slides on the receiver. Given it's age, I rate the wood at 8 out of 10. It has not been fired in the 60 years it has been in our possession. Only $375 Cash. Call or text anytime 317-432-6196. Located in Cicero, just 30 minutes north of Indy.
