These are some long-arms on loan to me from my wife's ex-step grandfather...(figure THAT one out!)... I have them for the purpose of cleaning them up/restoring, and function checking them. Then I have to give them back... *sigh*
Top is a 1974 Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight in 12ga. It was neglected a little and has some cancer. :-(
Next we have a September 1965-made (I think...) Remington 742 Woodsmaster in .30-'06. It's in great shape. A few of the photos show the rifle with 10 rounds... The other 10 rounds from this one box are the only action it's seen...
Then we move on to a "200th Anniversary Edition" of the venerable Ruger Mini-14 in .223. (That's 1976 for those of you in Putnam County)
Then, lastly, is a 1972-73 edition of the Ruger 10/22. Check out that walnut stock! (A friend just re-finished it for me). I plan on replacing the barrel...realized how bad it looked from the photographs. This one was in BAD shape. I stripped it all the way down and gave all the innards a warm sonic bath at work. Right now, it's wearing an el-cheapo Tasco scope...
***note, if you reply to this...don't forget to delete all the photographs you don't need***
-J-
PS, if anyone knows anything about Remington's sometimes convoluted Serialization, the S/N for the Model 742 is: 192XXX with a date code of "DM". I think that means Sept of 65...
