Daniel Defense 16" 1-7" twist barrel?

I am in the process of building my second AR. I just received my daniel defense barrel the other day and I was wondering if anybody has one of these? Its a carbine, chrome lined barrel with a 1-7 twist. I am mounting an adam arms piston kit up to it. I read where the gas hole was undersized on these barrels and needed to be drilled to mil spec?? I read to just use a 1/16" drill bit and that was very close to proper size. Do I need to do this with a piston conversion? Or should i do it by trial and error and see what it does before I go drilling it out?

Daniel Defense uses the correct size gas port.
