Was wondering if anyone knows of a very small youth rifle for my 6 yr old. I have looked at the Cricket rifle, but, even it is a little long in the length of pull. I swore there was another manufacturer who made a tiny rifle like the Cricket, but, I cannot remember or find it online. Is the Cricket and Chipmunk the same maker? We have a Marlin single shot .22 in stainless, but, it is larger than the Cricket. He is getting tire of shooting the air rifle in the backyard and wants his own shootin' iron.

I saw some at Bradis today that are so small it's hard to believe that they are real, don't remember how much they were but it wasn't too much.

BTW they close at 3pm tomorrow (the 24th)

I don't know of anything smaller, shorter than the Cricket.

Improvise, adapt, overcome? Never to soon to learn that valuable lesson. Besides, they grow so fast......

I would recommend cutting it off and then after some time very carefully run 2 nice long screws through the chunk you cut off to make it long again.

I saw one at Dick's. It has the syn stock, which doesn't lend itself to shortening, esp depending on the process the stock was molded from. So I will go with the "hardwood" birch stock.Have sawn and reattached stocks before with good results, cut has to precise. Come to think of it, that repair is something he could look back on, especially if he gives it to his child.

I like the henry mini bolt a lot better than the cricket
I never liked the stamped steel angle rear sight on the Cricket
and if your 6 year old is growing like my 7 year old he/she will be able to fit in it in no time
Also FYI I believe the length of pull on these are 11 1/2 inches
This is a custom stock job I did for my daughter

The Cricket is the smallest I've seen lately. It looks like all the small entry-level rim-fire makers just dripped out of that market.

I've been looking for a youth rifle lately. Currently Rossi, Savage, Keystone (Cricket) and Henry seem to be what is easily available. I like the Savage Cub and Cub T.
