I wonder if they are legal in Indiana, as they don't use a primer for ignition, but an electrical charge.
Some feedback would be helpful.
I halted buying one when they came out years ago for this reason.
Hate to be stopped by a CO, and have what is considered a loaded weapon in my hands after legal hours, because it doesn't take a cap or shotgun primer.
Now that's an interesting idea. I wonder why I never thought of it. I don't think you'd have to worry about them thinking it was loaded, unless it was... actually loaded. If you haven't put a powder charge in, it won't go bang. Heck, you could take the battery out, and it wouldn't even spark.
That is a nice thought, but if you're coming out of the field, after hours, haven't shot your Electra, and there is still a bullet and powder in it, it could be considered loaded. According to DNR, if the cap or primer is not on it, it is not considered loaded, or should I say, able to shoot. I know I will keep a charge in my muzzleloader overnight, if I'm hunting the next morning. I just don't take it out of the truck so it can get moisture when the weapon warms up. I then put my 209 primer on it, once legal hunting hours are in affect.
I have two of them and I haven't had any problems with them other than one of them has a loose front sight. It does shoot when you pull the trigger, there isn't a delay.
