If you was going to buy a 50 BMG.......what would you buy?

Next question.......can these even be shot safely by the normal person in Indiana or is this something a person should be trained to use and only at a range?

    Thanks

    Freedom , yes really Freedom
I only have a cheap AR upper 50bmg and a buddy has the same (different brand). We are by no means professional marksmen. Just good ol' boys hunting coyotes and such with big guns (actually just a range toy, spending $5 to kill a 'yote is pricey). We use them at a home range out to 800yds. They are fun as long as you are safe, shoot with a proper form and have a heck of a backstop.

Wish I had a bigger budget, but we each have about $2000-2200 in each of them. Wish I could at least double that , but not in the cards right now.

    Good luck and good shooting

I was thinking about a Barrett M82 or Serbu BFG-50A until I told my wife of my plan..........she said I better get one with a built in warmer, since it and I would be sleeping in the dog house!

I'd enjoy a Barrett just because of how iconic it is as "THE" 50BMG Rifle, but looking at them the stock has a little to be desired in adjustability.

I have a AR50. See my avatar. I really love it! I have no complaints.

You need to see if the range you go to will allow 50bmg. If you shoot with a muzzle brake you'll want to be mind full of those around you. I am in South Bend. You would be welcome to check mine out.
