Apparently the CZ 452 is dead but not buried. A buddy of mine in KY just posted on another forum that he talked with the younger Whittaker himself who told him they are getting several hundred each in .22lr and .17 HM2. No info as to when but it's worth looking into if you're in the market for a great rimfire bolt gun.

Edit: While I'm at it, here's a link to Yodave Products. Their trigger kit will improve the 452 trigger a lot.

That's interesting. Always wanted a CZ-452 trainer model, just never got around to getting one. Then the 455's came out.

I think CZ still makes the ultra lux in 452, so maybe thats what your friend is referring to.

Yeah, the ultra lux and the trainer are the only models left with the awesome tangent sights. LH American and Scout still catalogued as 452. I was at whittakers Saturday and was told they had some ordered friday.

The CZ USA website shows several versions of the 452 in their discontinued models section. I'm just guessing that means they are no longer being produced but are still available. If that's the case, it seems reasonable a high volume dealer like Whittakers could probably get a bunch of them. The 453 has disappeared.

By the way, one of my 452s is a Trainer in .17 HMR. I removed the iron sights and mounted a Mueller APV. Interesting "cheek weld" (actually more like jaw-bone weld) but the gun is very accurate.

I believe the changes, starting with the 452, was that the 453 added a set trigger then along came the 455 which can be used as a switch-barrel gun. A buddy got a 455 with .22lr and .17 HMR barrels. Came with an adapter for the magazine well, I think.

I've been to Whittakers a couple times and did a trade with them. Good guys. That is one busy gun store. I have the 455 American in .22 lr and .17hmr and both are very accurate. I just leave the 17 barrel on it tho. Not really in to switching the barrels out. It i s a neat idea but I would prefer to just have two different rifles.
