I have an M1A, but I don't shoot it very often and it is mostly a safe queen. I like it, but I just tend to shoot my smaller caliber guns more often.
My question is, can a forged Fulton Armory receiver replace a Springfield Armory receiver? Can it be a drop-in replacement?
    Thanks.

Why yes, it is indeed a drop-in replacement. You drop- in to your experienced gunsmith, hand him the rifle. When he calls to tell you it is done, you drop-in and give him money. Pretty simple.

Don't know what that is, but it's hard to improve on the M1A, Ive been shooting mine since 80.

Fulton Armory receivers are not forged. They are cast, just like Springfield Armory Inc.
There is nothing wrong with either of them so swapping would be a waist of the total cost. (No gain)
Get out there and shoot it.

    I'm a huge fan of the M14.
