I am saving up money to get the X95 on layaway. It has all the features of the standard Tavor but better controls. Slightly better trigger for a bullpup. I love the AR style mag release, but I wish it uses M-LOK or Keymods and I'd put actual flip up sights to give it a better look instead of the smooth look. It's an aesthetic choice for me. You're mileage may vary.

You can get rail-mounted flip-up sights. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding what you want. I zeroed the built-in sights on my SAR and they actually work pretty well.

I have both the SAR and X95. I like both quite a bit. It's going to be hard for me to recommend one over the other. I suppose part of it depends on how much and where you plan to mount on the front of it and what you are willing to spend to upgrade the front end of the SAR. You can go all out on a new handguard like from Manticore or just get a smaller rail for the bottom for under $30 from Homeland Guns....

Below the two Tavors on the Right are mine, the FDE is the SAR with a Manticore rail and optional internal light (love that setup) and my X95 that I haven't done a single improvement to. As others have mentioned if you are a trigger snob you'll want to upgrade your SAR trigger to a Super Sabra, it makes a night and day difference. I haven't felt the *need* to improve the trigger on the X95.
The choice isn't an easy one.

I'm going to mount iron sights on the top rail for the aesthetic look rather than just being ok with the built in sights on the rail.

Aesthetics aside the built in sights work well, cowitness with AR height optics and have tritium inserts. You'll be dropping $450 with some Troy battle sights w/ trit inserts to match the functionality. Don't get me wrong love them on my goto Mk4 RCE but no need to reinvent the wheel when IWI didn't skimp on the factory ones.

Tuesday evenings are best for my brother and me. Any place in or around Indy works.
Sorry, CB! Haven't been on much the last couple days... Totally missed the Tuesday thing. Would y'all be available tomorrow through Friday at all? I'm close to 96th & Meridian, but would be happy to travel to wherever, whenever--I try to be flexible as I can, and since I'm on break this week, I'm pretty much open for whatever. I don't have much of anything fancy to bring to the table like you guys do...but would be happy to bring a selection of what I do have if you and/or Frank would want to shoot it. Not going to do the laundry list here (not much of a list, but anyway)--PM me if you want and we can talk about what I could bring that might be fun for y'all. I guess it would also depend on the range chosen too.

All three of those in the pic look beautiful. Have a couple quick questions for you on yours:

Does the Manticore/light combination change the balance at all?

Do both optics cowitness with the built-in sights if you want them to?

I seriously doubt I'm going to be throwing a bundle at customizing--it'll take quite a while for me to save up for the rifle first. So far I've avoided the customization bug with my little 10-22, and hope I can get something I'm pretty much happy with as-is in a Tavor.

Thank you very much for the IWI-porn as well as the info by the way!

I could possibly get together sometime tomorrow befor 7pm. Friday is pretty much out.

And the built-in sights on my SAR absolutely co-witness with the Aimpoint Pro. The red dot covers the tip of the front sight post when it is turned on.

I could meet at a range/location of your choice tomorrow afternoon. Have a full tank of gas, know how to use it!
