I recently acquired a Remington 700 in a trade and I'm trying to figure out a realistic value out of it.
    Remington 700 30-06
    Blackhawk axiom stock
    170 rounds of ammo.

Overall the rifle is in good condition.

I would be in the 500 range for the package. If the bore is good.

The loose ammo looks to be reloads. The Gold Bear and WPA is useless IMO.

The recoil pad is poorly fitted. The screw heads are all buggered up. Nothing special here.

The long action DBM pictured is worth about 175 alone. You would be better off selling the stock and stuff separately to get the most money IMO.

    Gun- 500
    Stock- 100
    Mags and bottom metal- 150
    Bipod- 20
    Ammo- 35

    Total- 805

That would be my expectation if I was selling everything off.

    Thanks guys.
I emailed Remington with the serial number and they emailed back stating it was built in 1970.

Anybody have thoughts on the trigger 'problem/recall' on these older 700's? I ask because I have one similar to the OP that I've never fired, and am hesitant to, until I know more about it.

    .
Are you referring to the Mike Walker trigger? Have a 700 I purchased in the early 70's and had our local smith take the trigger down to a little under 2.5 lbs. Fired hundreds of rounds through it, tried to get it to malfunction but never could. Still have the rifle.
