Heckler and Koch suddenly announces new rifle in 5.56 and 7.62 in order to compete with its own more expensive HK416 and Haenel's CAR816, the Canookian C8, LWRC's M6, Schmeisser's carbine, X95, et al.

Looking forward to seeing more of this at IWA this Spring.

Will likely be way overpriced. HK ticked me off with there rebate a few years back and I will never buy a new HK again.

So this is meant to sell at a lower price point than the hk416? Looks pretty cool but it's hard to get excited about a new AR type platform anymore. Besides I'm pretty sure as a civilian H&K only just tolerate me for the bottom line.

All these companies put out rifles and advertise multiple caliber capabilities, then either don't make them (ACR, scar) or only offer one other caliber or the caliber conversions are half the price of a rifle. It's bull****. A $2000 rifle should have $300 caliber additions. Bolt and barrel. This **** isn't that difficult. So far the best one out there is the MGI or Windham weaponry multiple caliber rifles. And they aren't really "combat rated" just more of a novelty based on how the barrels are held in. But they are way cheaper than all these other ones that don't even deliver on their promises.
