JC Higgins model 31 trigger problem

I recently picked up an old JC Higgins model 31. I discovered that once the gun is cocked. I have to pull the trigger twice for it to fire. First trigger pull, nothing. You can feel a faint click then the hammer drops just fine. I removed the trigger group and function tested it, no issues. I also checked to make sure the trigger is resetting all the way but every single time it fires on the second pull. So far I have only dry fired it and have not run ammunition through it.

it's been suggested the two of us get together to solve our problems. I have one that fires twice per pull and you have one not firing at all.
