Anyone have or fired a Ruger SR7.62?

I am thinking about getting into the 308 and need a rifle. Years ago I had and sold a DPMS Recon to another member and never even shot it. I did not like the two tone look much. Anyhow leaning hard toward the SR and just couldn't find anything on here from other members. I was going to get the S&W but the gas block is hideous on that thing.

I fired a coworkers a few times. I can't say there was anything wrong with function. I think Ruger is doing a good job on the "AR" platform at an affordable price.

Personally, I think the AR platform is a bit light for the .308. I just didn't like the way it feels.

Apparently he didn't either, he upgraded to an M1A a few weeks ago.

Now that is a nice rifle. I may have to get one.

The savage is hard to beat!
Not much difference between the ruger and the dpms.

Funny you say that about the Savage. I was just watching a bunch of reviews on that one too. I might like it better but would need to change out that horrible furniture

I have handled one but never fired it, it was surprisingly light to me. The gas block on the m&p 10 is ugly, but doesn't bother me. Mine is light, accurate, and has so far shot anything, including reloads, I have put through it.

Yeah the MP was my first choice but that gas block is really holding me back.
