Like the title says I am looking for input on a good scope for a mossberg 308 bolt action for deer season. I would like the best bang for the buck. Some things I definitely want are adjustable illuminated dot for low light, stick around 200-300 preferable, fog resistant and an overall nice scope. Hoping to use it to make a good 200+ yard shot. Anyone have any experience with one? Any sales going on right now?

Vortex will likely get you as close to those criteria as possible but that isn't much of a budget for your requirements.

For the price Primary Arms optics aren't bad. I have one of their 4-14x44 scopes with illuminated crosshairs on an entry level .308 that does its job well. The above recommendations are spot on, but this will play a little better with your budget.

I have illuminated cross hairs. I use them at night, never during the day.

Correct as the Sun is going down they are perfect. Last time I used one was on A 450 bushmaster and it had an illuminated dot. That is what started my search for an illuminated. again.

That refurb PST will be your best bet if you must have illum. Buy it. Buy once, cry once. Hell, I'm thinking about buying one of those, and I don't even have a rifle to put it on..... I had one of those PST 2.5-10's, sold it, and I regret it now.
