I shoot them in my colt revolver, thought I would like to try this round in a semi auto rifle, anyone have an opinion on what one to buy? I know Ruger makes a 10/22 in 22 mag, and so does marlin, any others?

More fun, in my opinion, than a semi-auto, I shoot the .22mag from a Henry Frontier lever action with an octagon barrel.

The ruger 10-22 mag is no longer in production but some copies of the same gun are available in 22 mag.
The CZ gets good reviews. The marlin was good unknown of late.

In an auto pistol the 22 mag that works well is a unicorn. I have tried most all of them. I think the round just does not work well in most pistol autos. Have the 22 mag in a Winchester 9422 and that works so well I will need no other rifles in 22 mag.

I shoot two of those no-longer-available 10/22 magnums. One of them has the factory barrel. The other has a Green Mountain .920 fluted stainless barrel. Both have had trigger mods and aftermarket hammer and recoil springs. The both shoot very well. I also have a Ruger American Rimfire in .22 WMR which is a regular addition to the prairie dog battery. All of them seem to prefer the Hornady 30 gr VMax loads.

My RAR mag also prefers the same ammo. It'll easily hold 1 MOA at 100 yds if I do my part.

I believe my dad saw a Remington 527 in .22 WMR at the 1500 this weekend.

Of course, the Remington 527 is finicky in .22 LR, so... YMMV

I remember shooting a Marlin bolt action .22 WMR as a kid; good times.

My first handgun was an AMT Automag II with a ~3" barrel. It's a hoot to shoot .22 magnums at dusk. :rockwoot:

Is rather picky with ammo, though, and has frequent mis-fires. Methinks the firing pin/hole gets crudded up fairly quickly.

Savage makes the A22mag semi . I have the A17 and its a shooter. Got a savage bull barrel that is a tack driver. Taurus tracker that shoots good and a couple of PMR 30's that run flawless. A Winchester lever that drives tacks. I love the 22mag round and they are on shelves everywhere I've looked as of late.

My Marlin 782 is quite an accurate gun and I enjoy shooting it. My other 22 mag is a Colt Trooper Mark III in satin stainless. Nice revolver to target shoot and squirrel hunt with.

My bro-in-law & I both bought Keltec PM-30 last year & they have both been perfect. They only thing they eat is CCI. I know, I know! Both run like unicorns! It made me want a CM-30 for a while.
