Early last year I got word that Henry was going to produce a lever action rifle in .327 Federal magnum.
The minute I heard, I wanted one last week.

It took months for them to be released, and a little longer still for me to find one.
When I did I jumped on it.
I was, and still am, enamored with this rifle.

The more discussion I saw online, the more I began to wonder if these rifles would be around long.
The general consensus is saying most think it will be a short-lived model, and will be discontinued after just a year or two of production.

I decided I wanted a second one, just to hold on to, just in case they are discontinued and they become collectors items.
I found another one last week and hit the buy button.
It came in today. Identical to the first, with the exception of the serial numbers.

I brought it home today and laid the two side-by-side.
    What a beautiful pair!
Then I started looking at the packaging.
Each Henry comes with an inspection tag that includes the date that the rifle was finished and test-fired prior to shipping.
My first Henry Big Boy steel .327was born on August 8th, 2017.
My second Henry Big Boy steel .327 was born on February 8th, 2018.
EXACTLY 6 months to the day, from one production date to the other!

My first .327 has a serial number under 120.
The second .327 has a serial number under 850.

Still not sure why I wanted a second one, but I have it now, whether I need it or not!

    I know, I know.
I don't know how I managed to get it in here.
    NO, it's NOT for sale.
I reported my own post and requested it be moved...

    .
Congrats on the new rifle, do you reload that cartridge? I'm curious to see what folks are using even though I don't load it myself.

Yes, but I'm a new hand loader, so it's baby-steps...
Right now I'm still playing with different powders, but it seems to like the 115gr Meister hard cast LRNFP.

So .... are you sporting the iron sights, mgderf ...... or did you put an optic on your first one ?
The .327 magnum cartridge fascinates me. I'd like to give it a test in the Ruger 4" revolver. That handgun even has a fiber optic rod for a front sight .... which would be good for my aging eyes.
