    I purchased the Patriot last year chambered in the venerable .30-06 Springfield and sporting a beautiful walnut stock.
    It's a lot of gun for the money.

    I shot it once the other day before work. It has recoil very similar to a 12 gauge 3” turkey load. Has a good push. Nothing that someone couldn’t survive. I said earlier about getting a slip on pad. I still may do this especially if I put a scope on it. It says 13.75 LOP but it feels shorter than that.

    You might want to try some 235 or 250 grain loads as well. That should reduce the recoil a bit and should be plenty for any purpose short of hunting dangerous game.

    I would like to try some of the 250 grain GMX rounds. Those things are moving at 2900 fps which I think is moving for a 250 grain bullet.
