Well its not that bad LOL
But its well used. From PA. Of course.............35 remington :)
Spent a good while today Gunscrubbing the shellac and crud out of trigger group.
Latch is kinda iffy, needs new spring or latch.\

Shot it before bought, 3 off my elbows at 25 yards, .50 cal hole.

Slapped 4X Leupold on it last night, Burris Signature Zees (medium- but due to inserts taller than reg Zee mediums).
It wears Leupold Rifleman low aluminum rings now and is mucho bettero.

Excellent rifles and shoot comparably to a 700.
I've got one in -06 and it's my go to rifle out west.
I've never seen one in 35 Rem before. Don't think I even heard of it until now.
Downside is the price of magazines. Other than that I love 'em.
    Nice pick up.

This here is what I tote. Bought this 7400 as a beater just to blast Bambi's in .270.
Got it at a LGS, gave $165 for it, don't think I got took. It did clean up rather nice.

Good looking old pump gun, I looked for one for a long time. 35 Remington is one of the smaller runs in the 760 and prices are higher than most. I settled for a Marlin 336 in 35 Rem. and I'm satisfied with it.

Yes, .35 rems are more sought after.
Grice Wholesale did a special run of 7600 synthetics a while back.
Gunbroker has them off and on used, for 900 and up.

    Reg 760 in .35 rem.............500 and up.

35 rem stamped magazines are silly priced, 75-150 depending on condition.

.35 rem is a solid deer round, often overlooked.
But those that know.........tend to fall into the cult.

My buddy bought a CVA Hunter, in .35 rem. Whacked 3 deer with it. I ran a TC Contender carbine. Whacked 2 deer with it.
Mentioned lever actions, but said I'd prefer a pump.
Buddy bought one, then another, and another. He had three and said "pick one".

Yup, its got less bluing than the others, has some magazine issue. But they all shoot good, and this the only ADL he had.
    So I bought it.

The 4X compact is minty, not a mark on it. So doesn't match the rifle's character. I might distress the rings to better match, dunno.

This one from PA, the .35 rems are popular there.
    Buddy got another from Ohio.
Finding them here, on a gunshop rack...........might be tough.
I saw a later run 760 (looks like 7600) in .35 rem in see through rings (of course) w cheap scope for 675 on a forum a few months back.
It went bye bye in a flash (out of state forum).

    Deer season, X mas coming.............finding a deal on a .35 rem 760.....................gonna be tough.

Its got some dings and dents........so am not afraid to push a thicket with it.
My Ruger #1 RSI was in much better shape and just a little too nice to hunt in rainy weather.
Did see a nicely figured red pad #1 A in 7x57...............GB had it for 1250.
I thought it a bit high, but was "maybe................."

Went back next day and it was gone.

    LOL

    Figures.

I'm good w the 760 for deer here or north/east. Maybe a bear in the next yr or so.
Out west I might get another #1 (sold my RSI)........or get some bolt rig in .25 cal

    OOh. Aluminum plate! Oldie...

Have one in .243, though not that classic. Weird rifle. 3/4" accuracy with 75 VMAX.

    That was unexpected.

    It's fixed :)

Clean, mag latch clearance and mag body tapped back to proper dim.
Looks like mag was dropped when full and gently pushed tab back (bowed front of mag).
Formed and welded, these mags are works of art (really) and w spacers..........you can't do much to fix em.
But I got in there and carefully got the front fixed.
Which screwed up other mag dims.
(unitized, a move one way changes another).
Works fine now (had follower sticking after initial front of mag rework).

2 hr clean, 2 hr latch and mag rework.

Was going to Ahlmans after season if I didn't get it.

    Whew.
