UPS man is bringing me a new 7.62 upper today. I have ordered a few mags for it but they have yet to ship. As I am always impatient, will 7.62x39 rounds feed at all from a .223 magazine?
I just want to run down to Parabellum this evening for a quick function test. Hopefully the place I ordered from will ship the magazines soon so I can get a real idea of how I like it.

    Thanks, Matt

They are finicky feeding even out of their specific magazines due to the taper along the length of the case (why they are "banana clips") I'd just wait

Mine has never had a feed issue of any kind but I only use the 7.62x39 Mags that are designed for it. The regular AR mags aren't the same. I agree with Ggreen just wait.

As I was mating the new upper to one of my AR lowers, I noticed the one I chose is marked.223/5.56. Is this a legal issue that it isn’t marked multi caliber? No big deal to use a different lower, just something I thought I should be aware of.

    Thanks, Matt

I have ASC mags on order from gunmagwarehouse but they still haven’t shipped yet. A couple more C Products wouldn’t hurt to have.

Yes, 7.62x39 will feed from a .223/5.56 magazine, but badly.
If you want just a function test, try loading a few mags with no more than 5 or 6 rounds a piece.
Feed issues usually begin when you have a full mag, or close to it.

I had issues feeding mine until I purchased the C-Products mags.
After that, all is well. I now have several.

I got involved with other things so I haven’t had a chance to run down to Parabellum to function test yet. Maybe this afternoon. I ordered two ASC mags that finally show as shipped. I also ordered a couple C. Product mags yesterday since that seems to be the preferred brand. I thought I had read some time ago that regular mags would sorta function as long as you only loaded 3-5 rounds. That’s plenty good for a quick functional test. Once the proper mags come in, I’ll make the trip to a proper rifle range for a real test and tune session.
