Bought my first 1903a3 today. Should have it in my hands in a few days. I’m excited. This will start my ww2 collection. I will be sending In my papers to the cmp in The next couple of days for a garand. Unfortunately a few years ago I had terrible insurance and had to pay an extremely high insurance deductible, so I sold the collection I had started. I’m pretty excited to start again with this beautiful gun. The finish on it looks spectacular in the photos.

I have a 03a3 that my dad bought thru the mail back in the day. He sporterized it with a Herters stock, glass bedded it, and after passing it down to me he had it blued for me as a gift. It shoots great, next year I plan to hunt with it in memory of the old man.

Congrats on the restart of your collection.!

Awesome start to your collection. Who is the manufacturer? Springfield, Remington, National Ordinance, or? Barrel a 2 or 4 groove? Beautiful wood finish, enjoy that bad boy!

It does look like a nice one!

I really like the Remington's with the funky stock grip. I'm pretty frugal, so I think it appeals to me that they wanted a pistol grip, but decided to use up the straight stock blanks on hand.

The me. Measures a 3. And couldn’t look any better. I think as of now this is my new prized rifle. I also just got the email from the cmp that my order for a service grade garand is in process. I’m hoping for an H&R but if not I’ll just have to get another one .

Beautiful rifle paintman! I have a 1903, but I'd like an 03A3 to go with it. I like the rear peep sight on the 03A3 better than the notch rear sight on the 03. Got my 1903 from indiucky's shop. It was from the CMP, still packed in cosmoline and came with the CMP certificate. Does yours have two safeties? (Inside joke - I thought the magazine cut-off was the safety and was duly ridiculed for it. :):)

Great rifle! If I remember correctly, the BA cartouche is for Benicia Arsenal. It looks like it was never touched after it was rebuilt.

She's a beauty paintman. I have a ball shooting my 03, I was pleasantly surprised it made decent groups at 600 yds with handloaded ammo despite having a 76 yr old barrel.

Very nice rifle. I have a '43 Remington in similar condition as yours. I took it to the range back in the fall and was pleased that it was an excellent shooter. It is second only to my Garands. I really want a M1A next, but can't bring myself to cough up $1200+... someday
