I did the exact same, yesterday. $99, Walmart, and that model Savage.

I didn't see the $130 bolt action 22 (been wanting a bolt gun for a while), and the guy behind the counter told me they had no bolt .308s (had an Axis in *stainless* even, for under $300 that I also didn't see because I jumped on the $99).

But still. $130 out the door with a 525rd ammo pack was pretty awesome.

I have to say, my savage 954, precursor to the 64 is one of my favorite rifles. But it's time to move into the new year and look at those 10/22's

I'll be building a 10/22 from Brownell's for my next .22. Threaded for suppressor, cool DIY factor, rail for optics, and on a MagPul stock.

Hmmm. Should've gave up an AR and did that. Ah well

$99 for a Savage that is accurate and durable is hard to reject..

I picked up a badger, those are a nice little single shot to get the kids used to rifles, and they can grow with it and use it as a survival rifle later on

Bought the Rossi RS22 in September after watching the Gunblast video [Jeff Quinn]
$137.50 OTD total and has performed exactly as seen in vid. Zero malfunctions.
Spruced it up with some things laying around (bi-pod, laser, variable scope.....)
It will also take the 25rd mag for the Mossberg 702 Plinkster.

There's so many options and aftermarket mods that's essentially a jr AR.

Bought the Savage as a Xmas present for my 11 year old. Shoots great, but had 2 light primer strikes in the first 20 rounds, the next 20 were all good.
    Anything to worry about?
