I have had the 24" model for more than a decade, and yes, it is loads of fun to shoot.
That, and the fact that it is on a tried and true platform, the model 500, I would not hesitate to buy one if I didn't already have one.

Ironically, that is the same price as the Mossberg .410 that I just ordered from Rural King, but mine is the "Shockwave" (model 590) pump action .410.

If you do decide to get one, you won't be disappointed.

I have one for sale in the classifieds.

(Hopefully that’s not forbidden to say...if it is, I’ll delete this post).

I can't get the Mossberg 410 to run...At all....Loaded shells fall out the bottom.....I am not the only one that has experienced this...

My model 500 has never dropped a round out of the bottom.
You had you have gotten a lemon.

I'd contact Mossberg customer service and see what they say.
How old is this .410? How many rounds through it?

    Edit,
Are you talking about the full size model 500, or the new(er) "Sockwave" model built on the model 590 platform?

New..Two of them..Both did it...Contacted Mossberg, they sent a new follower and shell lifter...Said they "have been getting calls" about this...Put it in...Gun still did it....

Two new Mossberg .410's did this...One full size and the other the pistol grip defender...

    Well CRAP!
I just ordered a Shockwave from Rural King.
Haven't got it yet, but I hope this is not an issue with those too.
The Shockwaves are built on the 590 platform, whereas the regular pump .410 is built on the 500 platform.

    Midwest has the 410 pump for $299 24 or 28 inch....looks like a lot of shooting fun....holds 6 rounds...tempting...anyone's thoughts?

I have no idea how they run but I was in there on Sunday and fondled them. The smallest one fit my 8 year old boy perfect. The had several of the colored camo ones too.

I saw 500's in .410 screwing up years ago.
    Want a 500 that runs? Get a 20

LOL, get snow on the ground and saw a big bunny sitting yesterday.
Had entertained thoughts of hunting this weekend.

Going for Xrays today......think I broke my %$#@ wrist last night

    Figures.
