I am looking for information on a Wards Western 20 ga Repeater bolt action shotgun with a 3 shell clip. I got this gun a few years ago in a package deal of old guns. I am not finding a lot of information on this gun. I am trying to find out who made these for Wards and year of manufacture or a range of production. There is conflicting information on the web. One site shows these were made between 1937-1939 but that is all info I can find. One site says gun worth about $150 and another says $300 but theses sites are old. It is in really good condition. Looking to update my gun spreadsheet with information on this gun and possibly sell it because it does not fall in line with my collection and I desperately need room in my gun safes. The only markings on the gun are on the top of the barrel about five inches from the receiver. It say “Wards Western Field 20 ga Repeater”.

Looks like a Mossberg 85. And refinished.
They are not good sellers, really only appeal to folks suffering from nostalgia.
    Utilitarian. Out of production.
Not to burst any bubbles, but $150 would be a stretch IMHO.

I need a model # for the cross reference. I'm looking in the back of an old Numrich catalog, without looking through every page it could be Savage / Stevens, Mossberg, Marlin / Glenfield, Nobel, Colt, Kessler, Iver Johnson etc.

Thank you. I figured it was not worth much. It was a throw in with a bunch of other guns that I bought.

Seen quite a few of those (and similar) w cracked stocks.
Usually right where that cross pin is.
Being a 20 and a bolt action...........wonder what choke it is?
If full it's proly blasted a lot of squirrels.

Might as well keep doing it too.
