Been looking for a stripped AR lower or an 80% for a build. Whats up with the anodizing on these things now? Does anyone make one that doesnt feel like sandpaper and chaulk?

Not anodized.. that's kind of its nature.. cerekote is the way if you want a smoother finish

The substrate’s finish will show right through the anodizing. If the part is rough cast, bead blasted or polished this will show right through the anodizing. Unlike paint or powder coating, anodizing does not hide a multitude of sins.

    Here you go.
A Finfish on a stripped lower. I think it's a shark. Is that OK?

I recently tried DuraCoating an 80% lower, it came out OK for a first attempt. I’ll see how it holds up and redo it if necessary. I learned a decent spray gun or airbrush is a must, not the disposable Preval sprayer I used. It made the job much harder.

Theres a guy whom he one of these as a complete lower asking $1000 on armslist... I thought he mistyped...
I couldn't imagine 1k for a complete lower only.. maybe if it was finished with a prs or luth ar stock, geissele trigger and all top of the line battle grade parts but not just a lower
