When I saw "Carmel Rifle" I was expecting something a little more pretentious and wondered what Brainard was spending the taxpayers' money on now. ;)

The second pic should be camel rifle?
I love IWI stuff. I didn't buy an X95 when I heard of the mediocre accuracy. I stuck to my Tavor for longer range and RDB for CQB.

Not to hijack the thread, but what ever happened to the Masada?

Eventually the Romans took it after a mass suicide.

If you are talking about the Magpul carbine, which was not ever a part of IWI, then the Masada was licensed to Bushampster, which thanks to Nardelli, saw an opportunity to sink the project so they gave Remington the ACR and destroyed the commercial sales avenue with an intentionally flawed redesign and recall. It was a complete and utter debacle.

So, yet again, Magpul screwed us, the gun owners.

If it is available in the States at any point in time, it will do well. It could certainly use a better name. "Carmel" doesn't sound like a rifle I'd be pumped to show my friends.

As far as the Masada goes, I don't think it was accepted by the military and it did not do very well in the civilian market. There was little support for the rifle. Magpul sold the rights BM and, while it is a good rifle, it has never flourished.

IWI is certainly producing some interesting products. Hopefully this rifle hits the market soon along with their new bullpup shotgun and .308.

    Yuk! That's all I've got.

Really? Interesting, I think it looks awesome.

I've recently stopped being concerned with looks of a firearm. (general comment now, not meant to be at GUnner) I've seen ones that look unaesthetic but I shoot well, and visa versa. I would need to get my hands on one to see if I like the things that really matter (ergonomics, fit, feel...)

*1 You never disappoint. Off to google to learn me some history.

*2 Other than not utilizing Travis Haley anymore, what did Magpul do to the gun owners? (off to Google again.)
