Title says it all, I’m curious what unique .22 guns are out there. I have a GSG STG-44 and love it, and I’d like more interesting .22 style guns just to enjoy shooting.

Winchester 1903's would qualify. Good looking Winchester design but made while .22 shells were still black powder. Winchester's answer was to make a proprietary .22 auto round in smokeless. A butt rash now, but unique...

There is a a whole slew of Military arms that had been converted to shoot 22s for training. 9 times out of 10 they are tired worn out rifles, that are giving a whole new lease on life by being converted to 22. But there are some are are made to be 22s from the start.

And as if you find Enfields not your cup of tea

there are Lebel French 22 rifles.

Then there are Mauser conversions from inserts

to Mauser rifles made from scratch to be 22s.

    https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2018/10/19/fn-mausers-and-the-fight-for-israel/

And the nice thing is lots of these rifles are converted in small batches and everyone did it.. So its like the Wild West of gun shooting.. Lots of surprises are out there.

For fun you can take what looks to be a large bore military rifle that has been converted to 22. Load it up hand it to the friend to shoot it. And then when it makes a phoof 22 sound over a large caliber bang you can look at you friend all puppied eyed and say "What did you do to my gun"???

Also if you just want old world class 22 shooting start collecting Quackenbush's..

It has some quirks that gave it a deservedly bad name, but it runs great if you reassemble it correctly and is a ton of fun to shoot.

Winchesters? How about a M1904? My maternal grandfather's, in the back of the gun safe, but don't think I could ever sell it:

did you know daisy (the airgun company) made 22 rifles?, i know where 2 are for sale, ones a bolt action
    https://www.gunbroker.com/item/825705549

    ones a semi auto
    https://www.gunsamerica.com/userimages/130654/903027718/wm_7576281.jpg

the bolt action has a removeable 10 shot mag that is like the 10 round rotary mag on a 10/22, and if you push in the black button on the back of the stock, the can extend out the butt of the stock (its adjustable for lop)
and you charge the semi auto by pushing back the piece that's sticking out the front of the forearm

both guns have a plastic "woodgrain" stock, they didn't sell very well, and I think they're from the 70's

their pretty cool and the ones we have for sale are cheaper that the ones listed above!

Speaking of military-looking rifles chambered in .22, this is a Polish WZ-48, which at first glance looks like a Mosin 91/30. Great shooter with the oddest (but nice) trigger I've ever encountered. It's like it has no "break". You just pull it, and it goes bang, which is nice for training new shooters so they don't anticipate recoil (not that there is any recoil with the .22). Just a nice smooth pull.

It's also really over-engineered. The action looks strong enough to handle .458 Winmag. Lots of steel!

Well this time I think a french rifle has them all beat. MAS 45, it is hands down the most accurate rifle i have ever had. I would put it up against a win 52 or remington 513..etc, I think I got this when navy arms was importing them and it came near perfect condition with sling and 5 magazines. Kinda expensive now, but i dont think it would be regretted.

What’s the issues with the gun? I’ve seen that and some ruger 10/22 conversion kits. I’m leaning towards a 10/22 with as much as you can do with them.

The "Winder Musket" is a fine shooter.

So like, you know just saying... If and its a big If... But if I wanted such a wonderful rifle.. What would be some of the things to look for...???? and say you only wanted to get one because my butt can not pay for all the kick ass variations I am seeing what would you recommends one looks for..

The opposite of these shenanigans are when your friend hands you a RIA .22 TCM and says (straight-faced) "It's a .22 conversion." Zero recoil, but I was tempted to kill him.... very bright and very loud muzzle report...
