There is nothing better IMHO than a 16 ga over/under for upland bird (pheasant, grouse, et. al) Hunting. My first shotgun was a Marlin Model 90 in 16 ga and 45 years later I still have it and use it for hunting. Yes, yes 16 ga ammo is harder to find lately but stock up when you can and you are set for many a hunt. Peace. Out.

What’s the consensus on these Turkish made CZ scatterguns?

I think for a hunting gun, or used for the occasional day breaking clays they will last a long time. I don't think they will last as well as a Browning or Beretta and I doubt they will hold their value as well as a Browning or Beretta. I looked at a couple and wasn't too impressed with the fit & finish.

Bought one of the Ultralight CZ`s in 12 gauge about 4 years ago.
Only use it for clays. Never had an issue with it.
It's no Browning or Beneli, but it works for what I need it for.

Just got a new cz bobwhite g2 in 28. Very lightweight and fit and finish are good (almost a little too tight!) Back trigger is good, front trigger is heavy. May send it back to them if my wife cant pull it for clays

Interesting side by side. The furniture is nice on that model.

I inherited my Dads old Savage s/s. That thing kicks like a mule.
I may add a new pad to calm it down. When you fire both barrels at once it's a handful.
This one is in 28, so it shouldn't kick too much! But I do want to see what happens when you fire both barrels at once

When you say it kicks like a mule, where do you feel the kick? If it's slapping you in the face, it may just need a wedge shape pitch spacer added to the stock. You could also try a Cheekeez (made by kickeez) pad on the stock. I put a thicker one on my SxS to raise my cheek on the comb and I can tell a difference. It used to give my loawer jaw a nagging tenderness after a few boxes of shells. If it is beating up your shoulder, there are several good recoil pads out there. Some of the best are Microcell, Kickeez and I have been seeing great reviews for the Falcon Strike recoil pad. The Falcon Stike is a bit pricey but it's actually a hydraulic recoil reducer in a pad. I have ordered one to give a try
