I think you would lose some of the utility of the 45-70 by running it in a rifle like that and how much advantage is gained over the 458 socom?

I like 45-70, but the best thing about it is you can make it fit the gun, from the Springfield, to handguns, to the Ruger #1

Looks fun but not $4800 fun. I already have a .45-70 Henry. I'll fill the need for something loud, powerful and ridiculous with something that fires a non proprietary cartridge like the DRD Kivaari .338 Lapua or one of the many bolt action .50 BMG rifles.

I have a 45-70 contender pistol, was shooting it a few days ago. I love shooting it but only a few rounds at a time. Cool looking AR but I will stick with my contender.

Coolgun, but I think the big bore AR round niche has been satisfied.

Dont be silly. We need at least 8 more flavors of big bore rounds between .308 and .50. Its how we roll.

I mean, Just look a little smaller. Going just above 5.5 we have how many flavors each in 6.5 and 6.8? Sheesh.

Remington Model 8 was in .35 Remington among others. Go for it!

A buddy just built an AR pistol and a rifle in .450 Bushmaster. It's remarkably fun to shoot and ballistics are very similar to standard 45-70.
