The Savage 212 and 220 make very good deer guns. If I was still in the game of shotguns for deer I would probably own both

I liked my bolt action Mossberg 410 for squirrels, and used to use my BIL's bolt action Mossberg 16 gauge for rabbits. Worked well for me. :dunno:

With sub 2" groups at 100 yards w rifled 870s w drilled and tapped receivers.....why would anybody want a bolt rig for deer?

Maybe a Browning A Bolt....if wanting a nicer looking dedicated slug gun and trying to stretch shots close to 200.

But the Marlin and Mossberg bolt slug guns?
    Ugly and clunky.
