I would love to shoot one! It would be great if you could rent one somewhere to put a few rounds through. If anyone would care to take me, I would be more than willing to bring extra ammo! :)

I have an Armalite AR-50, which is very pleasant to shoot, and very accurate with handloads. With the increased cost of factory ammunition, handloading a is a good alternative if you intend to participate in matches. Elmore's on the Southside has several 50 BMGs for sale. Finding a safe place to shoot them is difficult. The penetration and range is incredible. Good luck with it, they are a blast!

I have had one for 2 years. Still have not shot it though. Not a lot of places in Indy to shoot that beast!
You definitely know how to use the search feature for things like "50 BMG"... This thread is 6.5 years old.
Why the sudden post run from a 2 year member?

Doesn't Atterbury allow them? I have only shot a couple of rounds out of one. I was down at Martinsville and the guy down the line from a buddy and I had one and invited us to try it out. Holy cow... that is all I have to say... just... Holy Cow. :rockwoot:

Welcome back, Shunsley. I believe Wabash has a 600year range. Fifty Caliber Shooting Association's website has lots of information also.HTH.
