    Bill, if you are correct, I will not use my ransom rest at our range.

    However, at least one board member has responded to this thread.
    I just searched the Range Rules document available on the club's web page and neither "ransom" nor "rest" were found in the text.

    Back when the PP incident happened they cut off the threaded bolts from the ransom rest concrete block on the south end of the range.
    The issue was not with the rest but with the operator.
    But AFAIK there is no rule addressing the use of ranson rests.

    I recall that from the "Oops I had to re-enroll and redo the safety talk more than once" talk(s) - could have been a mis-interpretation.
    i wasn't even in Indiana back when that happened. I was asking for clarity and so no one gets in unneeded trouble.

    I agree from the story I heard Poor Operator Judgement and Error. ... was the root cause of that incident.
