    Range Shooting Benches

What is the thickness of the tops of the shooting benches?
I'd like to clamp my Ransom Rest to one for some 50 yard accuracy tests.

    Thanks

Now I can go buy the appropriate sized clamps.

    No worries.
My Ransom Rest is mounted to a 7/8" thick wood plank.
I'll get clamps with rubber or plastic pads.
I've removed the Ransom Rest trigger pull mechanism, so it has to be fired by hand.

Great idea ... the club cannot afford a repeat of the Ransom Rest incident from the late 90's / early 2000's (at least I think this was the time frame ... it sucks getting old and forgetting things)

    TJ,
    Agreed.
Its unlikely I'll repeat the Paulo catastrophic event.
I've used this Ransom Rest before without incident,
and I won't be firing a previously unfired pistol I made myself albeit under the tutelage of an internet gunsmith.
First magazine will be loaded with one round just in case.

    000245,
Don't worry, I won't . . . because those shooting benches are there "for me to poop on"
(google "Triumph the Insult Comic Dog" for clarification)
They won't be able to "unsee" that on the surveillance cameras.
Anyway, thanks for all the info.

I thought Ransom rests were prohibited after the incident that TJ mentioned ... ???? ya know "rulez" and all that (which I've noticed a lot have been added "lately")
