Great idea ... the club cannot afford a repeat of the Ransom Rest incident from the late 90's / early 2000's (at least I think this was the time frame ... it sucks getting old and forgetting things)No worries.
My Ransom Rest is mounted to a 7/8" thick wood plank.
I'll get clamps with rubber or plastic pads.
I've removed the Ransom Rest trigger pull mechanism, so it has to be fired by hand.
Bill, if you are correct, I will not use my ransom rest at our range.
However, at least one board member has responded to this thread.
I just searched the Range Rules document available on the club's web page and neither "ransom" nor "rest" were found in the text.
Back when the PP incident happened they cut off the threaded bolts from the ransom rest concrete block on the south end of the range.
The issue was not with the rest but with the operator.
But AFAIK there is no rule addressing the use of ranson rests.
