I live in Dearborn county, and I have 5 acres. I want to build a backyard shooting range. I wouldn't call my place rural, but it's definitely not suburban. the backstop isn't an issue because there's a small valley about 1/5 mile across, that I can stand one end and shoot down into. my question is about how far away does the nearest house need to be. my neighbor house is about 250-300 yards, would that be far enough.
