I have two 1st Generation Nest Thermostats that I would like to sell. Both have been installed in my home for several years and were functioning perfectly when removed (I replaced these with new 3rd Generation Nest Thermostats as I installed a 2-stage AC unit and the 1st Generation Thermostat won't control that). Included is the thermostat itself, mounting plate (in case you have a largish hole in your wall from where the old thermostat was mounted), screwdriver, installation manual, original box and all other items originally included with the thermostat.
These thermostats are easily and highly programmable for a multitude of energy saving and comfort settings including:
- "time to temperature" -- the thermostat can estimate how long it will take to heat/cool your house to a new temperature set point
- "airwave" -- keeps the fan in your air handler running after the AC system shuts down to utilize the still cold AC coil to provide additional cooling
- "cool to dry" -- uses the AC to provide additional dehumidification
- "early on" -- the thermostat will estimate when to turn on your system in the morning to reach the desired temperature set point at the set time (i.e., the thermostat automatically compensates for the lag in heating/cooling your house)
- the thermostat has a sensor to detect your presence (or absence) from the house; this can be leveraged to automatically have the thermostat go into "away" mode and lower/raise the set point to save energy while you are gone
- IOS/Android app to remotely control the thermostat
- probably more than I'm forgetting...
Note that the 1st generation model will NOT work with 2-stage AC units. It WILL work with 2-stage furnaces, though.
