WTB - Cheap "beater" car/truck

Looking for a el-cheapo beater car/trunk to use as a back-up vehicle until I get all the bugs worked out of my Jeep. In a perfect world, I'd prefer a 2 dr. compact car. But..... it's not a perfect world!!! I do have to say that I am a BIG man, so if it's a 4 dr. compact, I just may not fit!! I don't care about looks at all. It just needs to be fairly dependable. Anybody got an eye-sore sitting around that mamma's been nagging you to get rid of???

Would prefer to keep it under $1000 if possible.
