IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Due to a soon-to-be-deployed Army unit requiring use of our originally scheduled range, we have had to slightly alter the schedule for this event. Instead of having the AR-15 "Pop-Up" Target range (Range 14) for the entire day, we will now have that range in the morning (0800 to 1200) and will have the Pistol "Pop-Up" Target range (Range 10) for the afternoon (1300 to 1700).
We believe this makes for an EVEN BETTER EVENT as you will get to shoot on both the rifle and pistol qualification ranges at Camp Atterbury! The Army worked with us to accommodate both the unit requiring use of Range 14 and our needs and this the best solution that presented itself. In the end, it is a US Army range and their legitimate military needs take precedence over our civilian use of the range.
All those who have already purchased a ticket should have received an email noting this change. Please read the updated event listing (Camp Atterbury AR-15 and Pistol “Pop-Up” Target (Camp Atterbury, IN)) for details on equipment you will need for the pistol portion of the event. We will be allowing qualified persons to draw from a holster on the pistol range; firing positions are stationary, though. You MUST have a quality holster subject to the restrictions listed in the event description and you must satisfactorily demonstrate your technique to us with a cleared pistol before you are allowed to proceed to live fire. In other words, please don't show up and expect to draw from the holster if you haven't been trained in doing so safely.
That said, the pistol portion may be shot from the high/low ready if you haven't been trained in a safe draw from the holster and/or do not wish to use a holster.
Finally, we have moved up the morning meeting time slightly to 7:45AM to maximize our time on the AR-15 "Pop-Up" Target range as we must relinquish the range at 1200 so the Army unit deploying overseas can qualify on their rifles (we weren't kidding that this is the exact range that the US Army uses for their rifle qualification).
