Our last Rifle 223 (Carbine) event of the year is scheduled for Oct. 12-13, 2019 at the Bedford Contingent range in Bedford, IN.

This course will focus on the tactical use of the carbine (AR-15, AK-47, etc.) from 7 to 200 yards. Topics that will be covered include:

    • rules of safe gun handling
    • shooting fundamentals (stance, sight alignment, sight picture, proper trigger technique, etc.)
    • magazine changes (tactical reloads)
    • short-range marksmanship techniques
    • clearing malfunctions/stoppages
    • shooting from cover (barricades)
    • engaging moving targets (the Bedford Contingent has moving target capability)
    • shooting stances (standing, kneeling, prone)
    • battle-sight zero

Your event ticket will include all range fees and lunch on both days (usually some combination of burgers/dogs, fried chicken, ribs). We also typically have a Sunday morning informal church service at the range before training starts.

Our Rifle 223 events typically sell out, so make sure you get your ticket early (and take advantage of the $25 savings with the Early Bird ticket).

Complete information and online ticket sales are available at: Rifle 223 (Carbine) – Two Day (Bedford, IN)

Looks like it’s time to dust off those battle rifles and see if you are “well regulated”.
Plenty of time to round up your gear and order ammo so no excuses.

I am planning on making it to this one. Hopefully I can narrow that down in time for early bird.
Do it. You will not be disappointed and who doesn’t like to save $.
    Hope to see you there.

Estimated rounds to bring for the weekend?
250 per day so 500 minimum. I’d toss I’m another 250 just to be safe. You can bring them home if you don’t use them
I’d read the link with class info for better description of what to bring. I’d definitely bring more than two mags though as that will make it easier to keep up. Not sure if it lists knee pads but I’d bring them if you have them.
Early bird special ends this week.

Man, I'd really like to attend this, but we are expecting a new member of the family +/- about a week from the event. Hopefully there will be one on the calendar in 2020

Dude your jobs done already. Come on out and shoot.
Just kidding and I’m sure there will be opportunities in 2020.
    Congrats on your upcoming addition.

    BLASPHEMER!
#46. Don’t try to save money by conserving ammunition.

Not sure if it lists knee pads but I’d bring them if you have them.
Wait... did I misread the description?
Nope, this wasn't listed as a Concubine class. Maybe you should teach from a different area of expertise?

Bring all those boolits folks, it's going to be more fun than a bottle full of Doc's laughing gas!

Got room for a Sunday only walk-on?
If it’s you yes or someone who has taken this class before.
Day one builds skills and confirms everyone’s abilities.
Day two we push things based upon what’s been practiced day one and shoot the ‘qualifier’.
This is not an entry level class and a higher level of proficiency is expected from day one.

I was asking for myself. I've taken the class twice. Got the patch, it is the higher level of proficiency I seek. See you then, Thanks!
